Review of the new iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max phones Larger screens and innovations that go beyond hardware
Apple surprised us once again with the launch of the new iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models at its “GlowTime” event. These new versions feature larger screens, longer-lasting batteries, and the powerful A18 Pro chip, taking the user experience to the next level.
The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max now come in 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch screen sizes, respectively. This increase in size is accompanied by an improvement in image quality, which is ideal for those who enjoy multimedia content or play games on their devices. Additionally, the body of the new models is made of grade 5 titanium, a material known for its durability and strength, and is available in four different colors.
Another plus is the increased battery capacity for both models. According to Apple, the iPhone 16 Pro Max has the longest battery life in the history of the iPhone lineup, which is a huge improvement for those users who rely on their phones for long days without access to a charger.
In my opinion, the star of the show is the A18 Pro chip. This processor has a 16-core CPU and a GPU that delivers double the speed for ray tracing in games. Not only is it faster, it’s also more power efficient, which is important in maintaining the balance between performance and battery life. Data transfer has also been improved thanks to support for USB-C, a standard that many users have been asking for.
- Major camera improvements
Apple knows that many of us use our phones primarily to capture moments, and this time around, they’ve bet big on camera improvements. The iPhone 16 Pro has a new dedicated camera button, making it easier to quickly access this feature. Additionally, they’ve updated the camera array, which now includes 48MP sensors for both the main and ultra-wide lenses, and a telephoto lens that offers 5x optical zoom.
The phones also feature new “pro” camera features, which provide greater control over aspects such as color grading, allowing professional users to adjust their photos and videos directly from the device without the need for additional software.
Video recording has also been improved, with the ability to shoot in 4K at 120 frames per second, allowing for smoother, more detailed videos. As with the iPhone 16, the Pro models have a button called Capture Control to make it easier to take photos and videos.
- Innovations that go beyond hardware
Apple isn’t just sticking to hardware improvements; it’s also introducing new AI-powered features. One of the most notable of these is advanced visual search, which will be available in beta starting in October. This feature allows users to search for objects and text in their photos, which will undoubtedly come in handy for those who manage large amounts of images in their photo gallery.
We talk a lot about how technology is changing the way we interact with the world, and Apple has taken a significant step in that direction. These new AI features not only demonstrate Apple’s commitment to innovation, but also herald a new era of smarter devices.
As expected, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be available for pre-order starting September 13, with an official launch on Friday, September 20. Both models will arrive in base storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB and 128GB on the Pro model, and will be available in several colors: natural titanium, black titanium, white titanium, and desert titanium.
