My favorite browser is not in the Google Play Store and it is very fast This is Cromite

I admit that I have been a huge fan of Google Chrome since the beginning. In fact, I am a user of the Apple ecosystem myself, and Chrome has been my browser of choice for many years on Mac, iPhone, and Android. I have tried a few web browsers and although I was convinced by Brave or Opera, I am used to it and I love Chrome.

The truth is that Google Chrome has a lot of annoying programs and suggestions that have been distorting the user experience for a long time, so what I basically wanted was more Chrome and less Google. I found it: I tried Bromite, discovered this free open source browser and liked its lightness and speed. Now it is a must-have on my Android mobile phone.

- What is Bromite and how does it work?

In short, Cromite is a simple browser and this advantage can be seen in how smoothly it runs. The disadvantage is that it has an ad blocker (with Adblock), is a complete privacy proposition and lacks add-ons that hinder and confuse.

As the project promises, its mission is to limit the functions that track usage habits, and if that is not possible, disable them, giving the user the freedom to choose what they want to do. In fact, it has a long list of functions to protect user data, such as the incognito mode that is enabled by default, support for configuring ad blockers and filters, or disabling smart search with its suggestions.

For example, in the first image below, the home screen is much cleaner than Chrome's, devoid of recommended entries, search suggestions, and the like. So, you have the search engine, the button to open bookmarks and downloads, and little else.

In terms of operation, it is very similar to Google Chrome in terms of menus, although it has more and better options. Thus, it supports user agent customization and restores some of Chrome's functions that can be activated using Chrome Flags.

In short: Bromite has the best of Crow, but without the Google snooping. It's perfect for getting rid of recommendations and taking extreme precautions, and since it runs fast, it's a good option for basic or older phones. The only downside I have is that it doesn't have multi-device sync, though if you have a password manager, bookmarks, and separate sessions, it's fine.

Bromite is not available in the Google Play Store, but installing it on an Android device is not a mystery: just head over to the project's GitHub to download an APK based on your mobile architecture and install it on your mobile phone or tablet.
