Microsoft Launches Office LTSC 2024 for Businesses and Governments
Microsoft has officially announced the release of Office LTSC 2024 for corporate and government customers for Windows and Mac.
Microsoft had launched a public beta version of Office LTSC 2024 to its customers last April.
Microsoft stated on its official blog that the Office LTSC 2024 package has become available for about a year to current corporate and government customers, and that it will be released to all customers by early next October.
The package includes well-known Microsoft office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and OneNote, and the Office LTSC Professional Plus package can be purchased in order to benefit from the Access program.
LTSC stands for Long-Term Servicing Channel, which is a perpetual license to use Office applications and a variety of other tools without the need for a periodic subscription. It is suitable for organizations that need to install software on their devices – such as medical equipment, manufacturing devices, etc. – once, and then run it without updates for the long term in order to stabilize and control the work.
“Office LTSC 2024 delivers a solid release of familiar productivity tools, with updates that include a portion of the features added to Microsoft 365 applications over the past three years,” Microsoft said in its post. “New features include dynamic charts and more than a dozen new text and matrix functions in Excel, improved search options for creating meetings in Outlook, and improvements to performance, security, and accessibility . ”
Office 2024 LTSC will be officially supported by Microsoft for five years according to company policy.
Regarding the consumer release of Office 2024, Microsoft indicated that it will reveal additional information “in the coming weeks.”
