In a week from now, if you don't have a Samsung account you won't be able to download apps from the Galaxy Store.
Although the move has not pleased all users, it makes all the sense in the world. In fact, all Android or iOS mobile phone users have to enter their accounts in order to be able to download content from the respective stores. Now this approach has reached the Samsung Galaxy Store.
It was Samsung that informed users of this change, as you can read on SamMobile that the Galaxy Store has issued a statement in which it has ended the possibility of downloading applications without a user account.
They point out in this statement that all users using the Galaxy Store have until September 25 to create a Samsung account and continue downloading apps. From today onwards, it will be impossible to download apps or content from the Samsung App Store.
This may be a hindrance to the Galaxy Store experience, but the truth is that creating an account is completely free and only takes a few minutes. In fact, it can be linked to other accounts such as Google for easier access.
It remains to be seen how far this new Samsung policy will go, though you can read in the statement that some Samsung apps and services may continue to be updated without a Galaxy Store account.
It has not been specified why or what Samsung apps or services would violate its regulations. Of course, everything indicates that these may be mandatory system apps for the device to work.
The truth is that this would make sense, as it is something necessary for the device to stay updated and for everything to work properly. For now, we will have to wait until September 25th to be able to check if this new policy is being applied.
