Huawei launches its new smartwatch Watch GT 5
Huawei has announced the global launch of its Huawei Watch GT 5 smartwatch series , which comes with a new sharp-angled design, an improved TruSense system to enhance health benefits, and many other distinctive features.
The series includes the GT 5 and GT 5 Pro models in 41mm and 46mm sizes. The larger version features a sharply angled bezel, while the smaller (41mm) version features subtle engravings on the bezel, giving each version a distinct look.
The watch has hard coatings on the body and screen with a uniform nano-coating that is water-resistant, making it resistant to scratches, water, and corrosion, according to the company.
The Pro version of the watch features unique materials; the black version comes with a titanium alloy bezel, while the white version comes with a nano-crystal ceramic body and a snow-white strap.
This watch is water resistant to a depth of 40 meters, allowing users to safely dive while wearing it.
The two watches offer new watch faces to suit different tastes from sports to fashion, and they also feature a navigation system with maps and support for tracking daily runs thanks to the Sunflower system developed by Huawei, which relies on satellite signal tracking algorithms to accurately determine locations during outdoor training.
Running analysis provides advanced data such as ground contact time balance and vertical oscillation, and both watches have more than 100 exercise modes, and fitness goals can be tracked using Activity Rings 2.0.
The new TruSense system supports psychological analysis through the Emotional Wellbeing app, which relies on system data to provide insights into emotional reactions via the panda icon, and provides suggestions such as breathing exercises to control stress.
The two watches offer other features such as sleep tracking, menstrual cycle tracking, and heart rate analysis to detect irregular heartbeats. Huawei is also giving users a free 3-month subscription to the Huawei Health+ service with exclusive benefits.
The 46mm Huawei Watch GT 5 offers a battery life of up to 14 days, while the smaller 41mm version offers a battery life of up to 7 days, and both watches support iOS and Android devices.
The company is offering the basic Huawei Watch GT 5 at a starting price of €250, while the Pro version starts at €450, with differences in bezel materials and straps affecting prices.
