Huawei and Du Achieve a Qualitative Leap in 5G Networks

Huawei and du , a subsidiary of Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), have achieved a remarkable technical achievement in the telecommunications sector, as they succeeded in activating the first indoor digital solution for the (LampSite X) network using three-carrier aggregation (3CC) technology for fifth generation (5G) networks in the Middle East.

This achievement represents a qualitative leap in the field of communications, and enhances du’s leadership in the field of user experience for fifth-generation networks, which provide a record data transfer speed of 5.1 gigabits per second, exceeding all previous standards.

Three-Carrier Aggregation (3CC) is an advanced technology used in 5G networks to improve network performance and increase its speed, as it works to aggregate different frequencies (carriers) at the same time to serve a single user, providing much higher internet speed.

Revolutionizing user experience:

In 2021, du, in collaboration with Huawei, successfully launched the first 1Gbps indoor broadband network. Today, du continues to strengthen its leadership with this new achievement that raises the bar in the world of communications.

This joint innovation between the two companies aims to provide an unparalleled communication experience for users in indoor spaces such as shopping malls, hotels, airports, and residential buildings. Thanks to this advanced technology, users can enjoy browsing the Internet at super-fast speeds, downloading huge files in record time, and enjoying augmented reality applications and online games in high quality and without any delay.

Record numbers:

The numbers confirm the success of du’s model in adopting 5G technologies, as the company’s 5G network usage exceeded 60% of total mobile activity, outperforming 4G and 3G networks combined. This achievement reflects the trust that customers place in du’s networks, and reflects the importance of 5G in our daily lives.

Saleem Al Balooshi, Chief Technology Officer at du, affirmed the company’s commitment to providing the best user experience by investing in the latest technologies and continuously developing its networks. He pointed out that this new achievement is an important step in the company’s journey towards achieving its vision of providing advanced communications networks that meet the growing needs of customers.

“Today, we are witnessing the rapid development of 5G networks, as we enter the era of innovation with intelligent electric vehicles, humanoid robots, cloud mobile phones, and holographic display technology.

Operators today must provide indoor networks with greater capacity, higher performance, and enhanced energy efficiency. LampSite X is an industry-leading indoor solution that helps operators build indoor networks with intelligence and exceptional performance to meet the explosive growth in service demand,” said Eric Bao, President of Huawei’s Indoor Digital Wireless Systems Product Line.

du remains committed to providing the best 5G network services to its customers across the UAE by continuously enhancing its network with the latest technological advancements. In line with its long-standing commitment to supporting the UAE’s connectivity goals, the company continues to innovate and implement strategies that enhance network capabilities and deliver advanced solutions.
