Google Messages is improving spam and scam detection with a new multi-country folder, a folder, so to speak, that will move all the scam messages that come from outside our country of residence and that we have not added to our contacts.

We receive a large number of scam messages in Google Messages almost every day, and while the app tells us when a message is spam or outright scam, Google wants to improve this detection.

Currently, Google Messages alerts us with an on-screen warning every time we open a message that has been marked as spam.

To prevent us from falling victim to this type of messages and scams, they will launch a new classification folder that includes messages from unknown numbers coming from abroad.

This new folder may be enabled by default, although you can disable it at any time. You'll have the option to manually mark messages as international if the system misses them, or move them to your inbox if you don't consider them spam.

These spam messages coming from outside will not cause a notification to appear on your mobile phone, and to read them you will have to manually access the corresponding folder created in the Google Messages application.

We will see if this feature will finally reach the stable version of Google Messages, and how we can customize it so that there are no errors in this regard with the filtering.
