Get ready for people to ignore you on WhatsApp with this new feature that not everyone will like

WhatsApp is one of the apps that integrates the most updates throughout the year. From reactions to statuses to self-destructing voice memos, the messaging app has really thought of everything, but this time it integrates a somewhat controversial feature. It is the possibility to mark all chats as read: 'Read all'.

This news comes from our colleagues at WABetainfo , who have discovered that this feature is now available in the beta version 2.24.20.19 of WhatsApp for Android. Being in beta, this feature is still under development, but we already know how it works.

This is a small button that will appear in the app's options menu located at the top right, in the section with the three vertical dots. When you open the menu, you will see the option "New Group", "Featured Messages", "Settings" and the new function: "Read All".

When you tap on this option, all unread messages in your inbox will automatically be marked as read. Why does it work? We ask ourselves the same thing. Most likely, Neta, the parent company of WhatsApp, is integrating this new feature for those who receive hundreds of messages daily from people who are also in multiple groups.

However, the new “read all” function may make users ignore their contacts more and more, as all they need to do is press a button to leave the conversation visible.

Right now, this feature is in beta, so it might take at least a few more weeks before it reaches all users. The best thing to do is prepare yourself to be ignored by more than one person (and even more often). Of course, this feature seems to be available only to Android users, at least at first.
