Gemini now lets you upload files directly and tell it what you want to do with them
Gemini just received a new update that aims to make Google’s AI even more useful to users. Now you’ll be able to upload files directly to Gemini, expanding its functionality.
All these updates and integrations make Gemini remain one of the top contenders in the AI race. Google’s announcement about the possibility of uploading files to Gemini was posted on the company’s official support blog , where the files that are compatible with Gemini were also specified.
The list of supported files consists of the following formats:
- Plain text files: TXT
- Document files: DOC, DOCX, PDF, RTF, DOT, DOTX, HWP, HWPX
- Documents created in Google Docs
- Data files in table format: CSV, TSV
- Spreadsheet files: XLS, XLSX
- Spreadsheets created in Google Sheets
Google also notes that up to 10 files can be uploaded at the same time and each file can be up to 100MB in size.
The process of uploading files to Gemini is really simple, in fact, everything indicates that Google has simplified the process as much as possible and adapted it to mobile phones and these are the steps:
- Summon Gemini
- Click on the "+" icon on the left side.
- Select file type
- Tell Gemini what to do with the information.
The feature is available for both Android and iOS, and Google has decided not to limit this functionality to any operating system.
