Enable this secret Windows 11 feature to close unresponsive apps and programs

Our Windows 11 operating system has dozens and dozens of apps, all kinds of programs that focus on productivity and entertainment as well.

But our operating system is by no means infallible, and from time to time we end up with some applications that we should have closed anyway becoming unresponsive.

In general, if there is a problem with applications and it occurs in Windows, the normal thing to do is to open the Task Manager, then select the application that has the problem, and click the "End Task" button. This will close the program in front of us.

You can access the Task Manager in several ways, either by searching for it directly or by using the typical Control, Alt, and Delete commands at the same time.

However, if you want to skip this step of having to open the Task Manager to close an unresponsive app or program in Windows 11, you can enable a secret “End Task” setting.

- This is how you can activate this secret setting in Windows 11

The only thing you need to do is access or configure your operating system settings.

To enable the End Task option in the taskbar, open Settings. Click System, then scroll down until you see For Developers. Click this option.

Next, scroll down the big list of Developer Options until you see the End Task option and enable it.

As mentioned in the description, the End Task option will be enabled in the taskbar by right-clicking on one of the open applications.

This means that, for example, if you have an application open that is not responding, its icon should be present on the Windows 11 taskbar. Simply right-click on the problematic application icon, and a new option will appear, at the bottom, which is “End task.”

In this way we skip an important step because it will no longer be necessary to go to the task manager to find the corresponding option and thus close the application that has the problem.
