Do you have any of these three batteries? You should stop using them immediately as they pose a fire risk.
Anker has warned that some of its three external battery units are dangerous. The manufacturer has issued a statement saying that some of the units have a serious defect that could cause them to catch fire. Below we tell you what they are and what to do if you have one.
The brand noted on its website that the three battery units manufactured between January 3, 2024 and September 17, 2024 may be defective. This is due to the lithium battery they contain, which can melt the casing, emit harmful smoke, and cause fires.
The affected models are:
- Anker 334 MagGo Battery (PowerCore 10K) (A1642)
- Anker 20,000mAh Power Bank (A1647)
- Anker 10,000mAh MagGo Power Bank (A1652)
Not all units are dangerous, but to avoid problems, Anker is alerting all owners to perform the following check.
