Apple makes it easier to replace the battery in iPhone 16 phones
In a major step towards making iPhone repairs easier and longer lasting, Apple has announced a new internal design for the iPhone 16 that will make battery replacement easier, saving users time and money and reducing e-waste.
Apple noted in its official statement that the internal design has been “completely redesigned,” allowing for more efficient heat management and an easier battery maintenance experience.
According to previous reports, Apple is said to be making repairs easier in compliance with increasingly stringent EU regulations on repairs for electronic devices. These requirements are intended to make battery replacements easier for regular users and reduce the impact of electronic waste on the environment.
However, it remains unclear how much Apple will simplify the battery replacement process until the iPhone 16 teardowns are conducted after their launch.
Previously, replacing the battery on iPhones was extremely difficult due to the nature of the adhesive used. Apple provided pull strips to make the process easier, but these strips often broke, requiring potentially dangerous removal techniques.
Previous rumors suggested that Apple was trying to find ways to make battery replacements easier, using a “stimulative de-adhesion” technology. However, it is not known whether Apple has actually used this technology specifically to make battery replacements easier in the iPhone 16.
In addition to making it easier to replace the battery, the new internal design of the iPhone 16 increases the efficiency of the devices and improves their performance by facilitating the process of heat dissipation from the inside to the outside.
