Apple expands language support in its AI features

Apple has announced an expansion of the list of languages supported in its artificial intelligence features known as Apple Intelligence , with new languages such as German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Vietnamese and others to be added over the next year.

This announcement comes ahead of the launch of these features for the first time next October in American English, and also comes days before the launch of the iPhone 16 phones equipped to support these features.

The AI features are expected to expand to local English in the UK, Canada, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand in December.

Apple plans to add India and Singapore to the list by next year, and Apple previously announced plans to support Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish languages next year as well.

It is worth noting that Apple revealed the iPhone 16 series last week with a strong focus on supporting Apple Intelligence features, but the surprise is that these phones, which will be launched on Friday, will not contain artificial intelligence features at launch.

These features are scheduled to arrive later in the fall in a limited set, with the rest of the features to be launched in 2025, noting that they will be launched first in the United States and then the rest of the countries successively.

Apple has not yet revealed its plans regarding when it will support the Arabic language in these features, which include text generation, rephrasing, image generation, emojis, call recording, converting them to texts, summarizing them, and other features.
