5 Web Browsers With Built-In AI
In recent months, artificial intelligence has spread its tentacles in all directions: we already have it on our desktops, on our mobile phones, and on any device with a screen. The web browser is one of the applications that users use the most, so it makes perfect sense that AI will reach there as well.
When we think of generative AI, the first thing that comes to mind is chatbots like ChatGPT, but the truth is that it has many uses: it can help us summarize a YouTube video , or even analyze any image we see online. Below we review some of the best AI-powered browsers that allow us to perform these types of tasks and many more.
- Brave
It is a web browser that stands out for its privacy, and for some time now it also has an AI assistant called Leo. We can simply chat with him, or go a little further and ask him to help us in the place we are visiting.
In this sense, Leo can help us summarize the content of very long pages, expand information, etc. by analyzing the URL of the website. If we prefer more "privacy" we will also find a switch that we can deactivate to prevent the AI from using the context of the page to generate its responses.
You should see the Leo button on the right side of the Brave browser. If it doesn’t appear, open the options menu and go to “More tools -> Show sidebar -> Always.” You should now see a chat button. This is Leo’s AI.
- Microsoft Edge
If we had to name a browser that outperforms the rest in terms of AI, it would undoubtedly be Microsoft’s Edge. Edge has leapt to the forefront with Copilot.
You can use the Copilot button that you will see in the upper right area of the browser to ask it questions about any page you visit or ask it to give you summaries or analyze an image. You can also ask it to make changes to the settings, for example, to activate the dark mode of the browser.
- Opera
Opera is one of the first browsers to integrate artificial intelligence into its system. Its AI is called Aria and you can use it to rephrase sentences, translate texts, help you write emails, expand information you find online, and much more.
It is basically a chatbot, without the ability to generate or analyze images. It is also an AI that offers greater privacy: it cannot access the content and web pages we visit. This is a positive thing, but it also limits the things we can do with Aria (and in this sense the co-pilot is much more powerful).
- Arc
Arc is a web browser that’s only available on macOS (although a Windows version is coming soon). Its AI is called Max and you can use it to preview a web page without having to go to it, simply by hovering your mouse over the link that points to the page and pressing the SHIFT key.
Of course, you can also use AI to ask it questions, answer questions, help you write/correct texts, or provide you with additional information. To do this, press the keys CMD+F.
- SigmaOS
It is another browser that, at least for now, is only available on Mac. Of course, its Airis AI offers a different approach and is able to rephrase and rewrite the text of the web pages we visit directly within the page.
It also has a side chat where we can ask him questions, but the fun part is that we can ask him to modify a web page to make it easier to understand, more fun, etc.
You can find Airis' AI in the upper right side of the browser, or by selecting the text you want to edit within the web page you're browsing.
