Xiaomi battery will have a capacity of 7500 mAh with 100W charging
Xiaomi's battery will solve the global market! Xiaomi, which was previously the leader in fast charging for smart devices with technology exceeding 200 watts, has abandoned this path in favor of focusing on increasing battery capacity instead of pursuing decreasingly useful records in charging speed.
New Xiaomi Battery
The Chinese company is currently developing a new technology that will enable it to equip its smartphones with a 7,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging, or a 7,500mAh battery with 100W fast charging, according to a report from the Digital Chat Station account on Weibo. Xiaomi is currently experimenting with several different combinations of its new batteries at its research and development center in the Chinese city of Nanjing.
Xiaomi Battery: A general trend towards larger capacity batteries
Xiaomi isn't the only company moving towards increasing battery capacity rather than focusing on charging speed. Other companies like Honor, Vivo, OnePlus, Oppo, and Realme are also adopting the use of silicon and carbon cells that provide greater energy capacity, but not necessarily the fastest charging we've seen so far.
The vivo X Fold3 manages to strike a good balance between capacity and fast charging, packing a 5,500mAh battery with 80W fast charging in an ultra-slim body, while the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro packs a 6,100mAh battery with 100W fast charging. We'll have to wait and see which device Xiaomi will choose to be the first to use the new battery technology.
