If you are one of those people who do not read WhatsApp messages because of their large number, then you will like this new feature
WhatsApp recently added individual and group chat filters to organize unread messages, but this feature still isn’t enough for people who have dozens of unread conversations. Chats pile up and it can be annoying to see new message notifications next to contact names.
The instant messaging app has decided to fix this issue in the upcoming update 2.24.11.13 of the beta version of WhatsApp for Android available in the Google Play Store.
WABetaInfo reports that Meta is working on a new feature that will allow you to clear the number of unread messages within the app, making it easier to navigate through them.
WhatsApp aims to create an increasingly user-friendly interface, and its latest strategy is a way to manage unread chats in the style of Gmail.
The app will allow you to select a group of chats and mark them as read without having to go into the conversation so that the double blue tick appears or you can go to the three dots at the top and tap on “Mark all as read”.
This option can be especially useful for people who use WhatsApp or who are used to talking to a large number of people on a daily basis.
Unread chats in these cases usually pile up among other conversations and users have to enter each one until they disappear or are marked as read one by one.
WhatsApp's new option to quickly mark all chats as read is currently in testing, but everything indicates that it could leave the beta program and reach all users very soon.
Mark Zuckerberg's company has yet to confirm whether it will bring this option to WhatsApp Web, but it has been working on iOS for months. Android users will have to wait until the next update at least.
