This new Android 15 feature will not only improve your productivity, but it will also improve your mental health.
Most mobile phones on the market have the popular Do Not Disturb mode to turn off notifications and calls, which is an example of a user trend in recent years. This feature was first used to prevent your phone from ringing at work, while studying or driving, but many people use it as a default setting.
The Settings app lets you customize this mode on phones running Android 15. Google has decided to take this option to the next level with the QPR1 Beta 1 that was just officially released. The company is working on tweaking the Do Not Disturb interface to add a revamped quick actions panel and new features.
Android 15 QPR1 Beta 1 doesn’t bring major visual changes compared to Android 14 beyond the icon under the main Do Not Disturb header and new buttons under the Apps section. The interface has become more intuitive and features like “Display options for hidden notifications” have been shortened to “Display settings.”
Android Authority has spotted the submenu changes brought by Android 15’s QPR1 Beta 1. Google has consolidated all the customization options into a new page called “Display Settings.” From here you can play with grayscale, disable the always-on display option, activate Dark Mode, or dim the wallpaper.
Android’s new Do Not Disturb mode will allow you to adjust these parameters in third-party apps or create custom bedtime routines. This feature will not only improve users’ productivity, but also their mental health by preventing them from constantly being connected to their mobile phones if they don’t want to.
The new interface in Android 15 QPR1 Beta 1 is much simpler and allows users to make quick settings intuitively. If you want to change the screen brightness or notifications based on the time of day, you can set a priority order that will be saved automatically.
It's possible that the QPR1 Beta 1 update will change when Google releases the final version to the market, though the exact date is still unknown. For now, the old Do Not Disturb options box is present with some features from the future release.
