The first small PC to be benchmarked with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 can run most AAA games at 1080p60.

What was that just now? A reviewer has acquired a little PC that houses AMD's new Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor over two months before it is officially released, and to put it mildly, its performance is astounding. Tech YouTuber ETA Prime tested a Souyo S9 AI prototype and discovered that, even without a d GPU, it could easily handle some of the most taxing video games.

For those who are unaware, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 "Strix Point" processor has 12 cores and is built on the Zen 5 architecture. These are divided into eight Zen 5c efficiency cores and four Zen 5 power cores.

The Radeon 890M integrated GPU, on the other hand, is the true star. This month, we were given a preview of this small monster through handheld performance benchmarks for simulated gaming, and it appears that it can deliver equally excellent results in a mini PC environment.

According to ETA Prime's testing, this device supports AAA gaming at 1080p with fluid 60 frames per second. Mortal Kombat 1 averaged sixty frames per second, Cyberpunk 2077 averaged seventy-four, Starfield frequently maintained over seventy, while Hogwarts Legacy averaged about seventy-two. Naturally, you will not be using the highest visual settings on these, but the review prototype also hardly needed to use the lowest specs.

The mini-PC's performance on the notoriously difficult Horizon Forbidden West was especially noteworthy.

With AMD's Frame Generation enabled, the Souyo S9 often exceeded 60 frames per second at 1080p low, while last-generation APUs found it difficult to break 60 fps even at 720p.

Going on to additional benchmarks, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 earned 4,199 in Time Spy, 625 in Steal Nomad, and 9,469 in 3DMark's Fire Strike test.

These good scores indicate a significant improvement in GPU performance over the previous generation.

Turning back to the small PC itself, there are two USB-A ports on the front and one USB-C port, however Prime's review unit did not have the latter working.

Two HDMI outputs, Ethernet, two additional USB-A, and one other USB-C connector are located around the back of the little box.  With three M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD slots onboard—one of which was dormant on the prototype—storage is also no joke.

Upgradeability is not a possibility because the memory is of the soldered LPDDR5X sort with 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB capacities.  Although the Souyo S9 AI's release date is currently unknown, it is expected to occur in mid-October.
