Susan Wojcicki, a former YouTube CEO, passed away at age 56.

The former CEO of YouTube, Susan Wojcicki, passed away at the age of 56 from lung cancer.  From 2014 to 2023, Wojcicki was the head of YouTube.  Her spouse Dennis Troper and their kids are still alive.


Alphabet CEO Sunder Pichai announced on X that Susan Wojcicki, the former CEO of YouTube, passed away "after two years of living with cancer." He expressed his "unbelievably grieved by the loss." She was 56 years old.  Pichai went on, "She is as fundamental to Google's history as anyone, and it is difficult to imagine the world without her." "She was a remarkable individual, friend, and leader who made a huge difference in the world. I, along with many other Googlers, am the better person for having known her. She will be sorely missed. Our condolences to her family. RIP, Susan."

Dennis Troper, her spouse, posted on Facebook on Friday night, saying, "After two years of living with non-small cell lung cancer, my beautiful wife of 26 years and mother to our five children left us today."  In addition to being Troper's closest friend and lifelong companion, Susan was also a bright thinker, a devoted mother, and a close friend to many others.  From 2014 until 2023, Wojcicki led YouTube as CEO. He started his career at Google in 1999.
