According to reports from Korean media, Samsung's chairman has ordered the mobile division to reevaluate its plans and cracked down on some executives, including division head TM Roh.
Informed sources indicated that Lee may intervene after the controversy that arose over the imitation of Apple's design and the quality problems that accompanied the Buds 3 series and the Galaxy Watch 7, which was launched last month, and the sources added that the atmosphere inside the company prevailed in a state of extreme tension.
Design imitation and quality problems
The design of the new Galaxy Buds 3 series and Galaxy Watch Ultra has caused controversy due to their great resemblance to Apple AirPods, AirPods Pro and Apple Watch Ultra products respectively.
Samsung has moved away from the distinctive oval design of its previous headphones and relied on a design similar to the AirPods, so that the charging case is very similar to the AirPods case, and the gestures used by the headphones are similar to those used in the AirPods.
On the other hand, the square design of the Galaxy Watch Ultra and the orange colors used in it are very reminiscent of the Apple Watch Ultra, and the orange side button and strap options are similar to those of the Apple Watch, in addition to the problem of imitating the design, Samsung also had quality issues with the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, the company was forced to suspend sales after early buyers reported several problems with the headphones, including weak earphone tips that easily torn, This seems to have increased the concern of the Chairman of the Board.
These developments may force Samsung to reconsider its recent options and improve its upcoming products, however we will have to wait for some time to see how things develop, as Samsung's next major launch is still a few months away.
