Oppo's first factory in Egypt to open in October
Good news for Oppo phone lovers. We announce the opening of the Oppo factory . The Chinese company Oppo is preparing to open its new factory in the Tenth of Ramadan City by the end of this year. According to reliable sources in the communications sector, the Chinese company intends to direct part of its production towards the Egyptian market at a rate of up to 45%, with a local added value of 42%.
Opening of the first Oppo factory in Egypt
Oppo is working to boost its local production, announcing in January 2023 that the annual production volume of the new factory is expected to reach 4.5 million units. This step comes in the context of the company's interest in exporting abroad after the factory is operational.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister visited the “Vivo” factory in the same city, where the company owns an area of 11 thousand square meters, and its production capacity reaches 500 thousand units per month. This factory is the company’s first in Africa, and it was established in 2022 at an estimated cost of about 20 million dollars, and currently provides about 1,200 job opportunities.
Vivo seeks to increase the value of the local product and the proportion of local parts, as the factory has started exporting the motherboard for smartphones to Turkey, and is working to enhance these operations.
