At Gamescom 2024, Samsung Electronics Unveils the Groundbreaking "Odyssey 3D" Glasses-Free Gaming Monitor
Eye tracking and view mapping technologies enable immersive 3D gaming without the need for glasses on the Odyssey 3D monitor.
Today, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. revealed that its newest gaming displays will be unveiled at Gamescom 2024 in Cologne, Germany, with a special emphasis on the revolutionary Odyssey 3D, which allows 3D viewing without the need for glasses.
The world's largest gaming exhibition, Gamescom 2024, takes place from August 21 to August 25. More than 1,400 exhibitors, including manufacturers of hardware, software, and game content, will be present.
Samsung's stand, which is 800m2 and the company's largest and most immersive booth to date, will feature models from the Odyssey G6, G8, and G9 series as well as the new Odyssey 3D, among other high-end gaming monitors.

Odyssey 3D: Glasses-Free 3D Gaming
A lenticular lens1 on the front panel of the Odyssey 3D is used in conjunction with cutting-edge light field display (LFD) technology to produce lifelike 3D pictures from 2D material.
Without the need for additional 3D glasses, Odyssey 3D offers an optimal 3D experience when combined with Eye Tracking and View Mapping technologies.
A built-in stereo camera is used by Eye Tracking to track the movements of both eyes, while View Mapping continuously modifies the image to improve depth perception.
Depending on the user's preference, the Odyssey 3D can fluidly switch between 2D and 3D modes. With its 4K resolution display, quick 1ms gray-to-gray (GTG) response time, and fast refresh rate of 165Hz, this screen—which comes in 27" and 37" sizes—ensures fluid gameplay free from interruptions or afterimages.
The Odyssey 3D also has an ergonomic design with one DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.1 connectors, tilt capabilities, FreeSync Premium, and a Height Adjustment Stand (HAS). At CES 2024, the monitor took home the Best of Innovation award in the Gaming & eSports category.

Samsung has partnered with top game developers to provide attendees with an exceptional experience at Gamescom 2024. Visitors can enjoy the newest lineup of Odyssey gaming monitors in the immersive Odyssey experience zone, which includes the 57-inch dual UHD Odyssey Neo G9, the Odyssey OLED G8 with UHD resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate, and the Odyssey OLED G6 with QHD resolution and a 360Hz refresh rate.

Increasing the Odyssey OLED Lineup for 2024
The highly regarded Odyssey OLED collection from Samsung has grown with the addition of three additional models: the Odyssey OLED G95SD, G93SD, and G85SD.2.
With dual QHD (5,120 x 1,440) resolution, a 32:9 ultra-wide screen ratio, a 1,800R curved design, a Smart Hub, a Gaming Hub, a 240Hz refresh rate, and a 0.03ms gray-to-gray (GTG) reaction time, the Odyssey OLED G9 series, which includes the G95SD and G93SD models, offers an immersive experience.
Ultra-wide QHD (3,440 x 1,440) resolution, a 21:9 screen ratio, a 1,800R curved design, a Smart Hub, a Gaming Hub, a 175Hz refresh rate, and a 0.03ms GTG response time are all features of the 34" Odyssey OLED G8 (G85SD model).
Samsung now provides OLED monitors in a range of sizes, from 27" to 49", including the new widescreen variants. This expands its already extensive OLED portfolio and gives gamers more alternatives, building on the popularity of the Odyssey OLED G6 and G8 models that were released in June.
