Microsoft hasn't given up on Windows 10 and is preparing all these new features.

There's just over a year left until Microsoft ends support for Windows 10, and with it millions of PCs will become obsolete, although fortunately there will be some way to commit to voluntary updates by paying an additional fee.

Whatever the case, there is still enough time for most computers to move to Windows 11, but that does not mean that Microsoft devices will abandon the previous operating system.

In fact, in recent months Microsoft has been integrating some features that were previously exclusive to Windows 11 into Windows 10, such as Windows Copilot or MSN widgets on the lock screen, among others.

Now,  Microsoft  has released a new preview build of  Windows  10 that includes some changes that will bring us news in the very short term.

As it is said, Microsoft is working on changing the position of the user icon in the Start menu and changing the menu that appears when you click on it.

Currently, the user icon is located in Start above the power icons, and clicking on it opens a menu that allows you to sign out and change account settings.

Clicking on it will bring up a menu that provides an overview of your Microsoft account and subscription status. This is the same menu that was recently added to Windows 11.

Microsoft has also changed the look and feel of the Start menu, which is visually slightly different from the rest of the menu.

Microsoft is also planning to update the Windows 10 Settings app by replacing the monochrome icons with colored icons in the top logo area when you open the app.

While many of these changes seem designed to encourage users to link to a Microsoft account and sign up for Microsoft 365, it's worth appreciating that with a year left before support ends, the operating system continues to receive news.
