The iPhone offers one of the best cameras you can ever find in any smartphone. Apart from hardware upgrades, Apple has added many features to the iPhone's camera making it a great tool for photography enthusiasts. Some features are available directly in the Camera app, while some are stylishly hidden. One of these features is the camera grid lines that can help you accurately place items in the frame for controlled, professional-looking photos. They also facilitate the application of the rule of thirds in photography.

How to operate the camera network on the iPhone:

You won't find the camera gridlines option in the Camera app. You have to go to the Settings app to view a grid on the camera screen and configure your own beautiful shots, here's what you need to do:

  • Open the Settings app on your device.
  • Scroll down and tap Camera.
  • Under Configuration, turn on Networking.

Now, open the Camera app and make sure the gridlines can be seen on the camera screen. This feature works in all camera modes on your iPhone, including Slo-Mo, Cinematic, Portrait, Pano, Time-lapses, and Video.

Once this feature is enabled, you will see two horizontal and vertical lines equal in distance that divide the camera screen into nine equal parts so you can maintain a balanced view.

The camera grid on your iPhone allows you to accurately draw items on your screen for a more satisfying effect.

This makes it easy to apply the rule of thirds in photography, where your subject sits 1/3 of the frame, leaving the other two-thirds more open. This means that you should not choose the center as the focal point of the image. Rather, the focus point should be in either the left or right third of the image.
