Google Messages app has a new send button
If you've noticed a change in Google Messages on your Android device, it's due to a redesigned send button. What is the send button and how does it look now? Follow us to learn more.
New Google Messages Design
These small changes feature a bolder design for the send button in conversations than before:
- The send button has become bolder in conversations.
- The send button background changes to match the chat theme or one of eight preset themes.
- The send icon has become light or dark to contrast with the background.
- RCS end-to-end encryption (E2EE) and Gemini tokens still appear in the corner as they always have.
So far, we're seeing this updated send button in the Google Messages beta channel (build 20240813_00_RC00), where it appears to be widely available, and it comes after work on a new read receipts system.
