AI-powered copy and paste is now available in Windows.
Microsoft is introducing a new Advanced Paste feature to PowerToys for Windows 11 that uses artificial intelligence to instantly convert items from your clipboard.
The new tool, whose finest techniques need OpenAI API credentials, can help users expedite their processes by enabling them to execute tasks like copying code from one language and pasting it into another. PowerToys version 0.81 has Advanced Paste, which can be accessed by pressing the Windows Key + Shift + V key combination once it is enabled. This brings up an Advanced Paste text window with options for converting pasted text to markdown, JSON, and plaintext.
You will also see an OpenAI window where you can enter the conversion you desire, such as summary text, translations, generated code, a rewrite from casual to professional style, Yoda syntax, or whatever else you can think of asking for, if you enable Paste with AI in the Advanced Paste options.
However, in order to use the feature, there are requirements. If you do not already have any credits for your OpenAI account, you will need to purchase some in order to add an OpenAI API key in PowerToys.
