Google Unexpectedly Teases the New Pixel 9 Pro Fold, but Few Details Are Available

Unexpectedly, Google has made available two quick films that offer a first look at the Google Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.  The redesigned form factor of both phones is shown in the films, albeit there are no specifics to match, despite some outlets speculating that the decision was made to elude leakers. The videos appear to be quite identical, even though they were released a few hours apart.

The top two-thirds of the Pixel 9 Pro's screen and the camera on the back are visible in the same amount of the footage. That is an oblong bulge that appears to contain three camera lenses.

The identical view is shown in the Pixel 9 Pro Fold video, but the real distinction is that in addition to the screen folding open, there appear to be two stacked rectangular camera bumps on the back, giving the impression that there are four lenses total.

Considering that over half of both films include a textual prompt appearing on the screen, it appears that Gemini—Google's AI Assistant—will be the focal point of attention despite the form changes.

That is all the information that has been made public thus far, although there are a ton of rumors circulating regarding the Pixel 9 lineup and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
