ChatGPT offers one of its best paid features for free
Today's announcement is about making Canvas available to all users (even those with free accounts only), as well as incorporating new functionality that will directly impact developers and content creators.
What is Canvas in ChatGPT? It is a tool designed to provide a more interactive experience when interacting with a chatbot (or rather, with the responses it actually provides).
Although it has been in beta for months, it is now available to all users, and its new functionality opens up a range of possibilities for both developers and regular users.
- New Canvas features:
* Debugging and improving code: Canvas allows programmers to paste their code and expand it into the tool's environment. With a simple command, the AI reviews the code and provides solutions or improvements, eliminating bugs and improving its functionality.
* Wide availability: Canvas is no longer limited to a select group of users, so anyone can benefit from its capabilities.
* Run code within Canvas: One of the most notable developments is the ability to run Python code directly within Canvas. This makes the tool an indispensable assistant for developers, data scientists, and analysts, allowing them to test code, as well as view the results in an integrated console.
* Integration with custom GPTs: Canvas can now integrate with custom GPT models , allowing users to implement their own AI tailored to specific needs directly within that platform.
* Real-time editing and feedback: The platform includes a real-time feedback system. When content is expanded to Canvas, such as an article or code snippet, users can receive detailed feedback on the interface side.
This last feature includes checking and correcting grammar errors and adding line-by-line comments, similar to collaborative editing tools like Google Docs.
To use it, first of all, you will have to access the official ChatGPT page and start a new conversation. In the bar where you typed the queries, you will have to select the icon called Display Tools.
Within this dropdown menu, you'll see an option called Canvas, which is the new tool known as canvas, and works very similarly to what you can already see in other AI-powered agents, like Gemini or Copilot.
