HMD Skyline, a Nokia Lumia-inspired phone, raises curiosity

The HMD Skyline model, inspired by the Nokia Lumia, has been spotted in Geekbench listings. The performance features are eye-catching.


HMD Global's new smartphone, the HMD Skyline, has been grabbing attention with its design reminiscent of the previously leaked Nokia Lumia 920. Now, the device has been spotted on Geekbench and has come to the forefront with its technical details.

According to Geekbench data, the HMD Skyline has a motherboard codenamed “Tomcat” and comes with 8GB of RAM. Four of the device’s octa-core processor cores are clocked at 1.96GHz, while the other four cores are clocked at 2.40GHz. Based on these specifications, the processor is expected to be the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2.

Additionally, the device appears to be running Android 14 and in performance tests it scored 1027 points in the single-core test and 2857 points in the multi-core test. Although the Geekbench listing doesn't provide more details, there are some features that have been leaked previously.

According to previous reports, the HMD Skyline will feature an FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor. Camera features include a 108MP primary camera, an ultra-wide-angle camera, and a third lens that could be a macro or depth sensor. There is a 32MP selfie camera on the front.

The HMD Skyline comes with a 4,900mAh battery and 33W fast charging support. It also has stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and IP67 water and dust resistance. While there is no exact pricing information, the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model is expected to be priced at around $565. The device is expected to be released in July.
