Pixel Watch owners rejoice as Google rolls out Do Not Disturb and Bedtime Mode sync

In its latest December release, Google delivered on its promise to bring three key features to the original Pixel Watch with the Pixel Watch 2. Pixel Watch owners can now enjoy Do Not Disturb (DND) and Bedtime mode syncing between their watches and phones.

Despite the initial announcement in early December, users are just starting to see the highly anticipated feature rolling out. To activate the sync feature, users need to head to the companion Pixel Watch app and explore the new “Do Not Disturb & Bedtime” section, located after the app’s notification toggle menu.

The default setting for this feature is “Sync across watch and phone,” which ensures that when the watch and phone are connected via Bluetooth, Do Not Disturb and Bedtime modes sync seamlessly between the two devices. It’s worth noting that this addition, which was initially exclusive to the Pixel Watch 2, is a server-side implementation, prompting Google to carefully monitor the rollout in the new year.

This development follows Google’s previous introduction of six Pixel Watch 2 faces for the original model in mid-November, along with updated complication styles like arcs and redesigned lights. It looks like this pattern of improving the original Pixel Watch with features from its successor will continue in future updates.

While Pixel Watch users are welcoming these developments, some issues remain, such as the At a Glance complication still missing the day/date. However, it is worth noting that a Gboard update bug, discovered last year, has been successfully addressed.

As Pixel Watch owners continue to explore these new features and improvements, Google seems committed to providing a smooth and improved user experience, further strengthening its position in the smartwatch market.
