Nvidia surpasses Apple to become the most valuable company in the world, and an Arab company enters the top ranks
With a market cap of $3.571 trillion, Nvidia is now the world’s most valuable company, overtaking Apple for the second time this year. It’s now worth as much as Google and Meta combined.
The market capitalization of a stock market is, essentially, the value of the stocks. It is the result of multiplying the value of the stock (the price) by the number of shares outstanding.
As prices rise and fall daily, and Apple and Nvidia compete on an even keel, they are competing for the throne almost hour by hour. This is the second time that Nvidia has overtaken Apple. Will it remain in the top spot permanently or will its reign last only a few days?
According to the company's market capitalization, Nvidia's stock market cap is currently $3.571 billion. Apple's is still at $3.366 billion.
In third place is Microsoft with a value of $3.123 billion. It is followed by Amazon ($2.177 billion), Google ($2.171 billion), Saudi Aramco ($1.775 billion), and Meta ($1.444 billion). With Trump’s victory, oil companies saw their stocks rise, to the point that Saudi Aramco outperformed Meta.
As we can see, Nvidia is currently worth roughly the same as Google and Meta combined, or Amazon and Meta combined.
Nvidia is breaking all growth records with its AI chips. At the beginning of the years it was worth barely $ 1.2 billion: the figure has tripled in less than a year.
Right now, things are looking good for Jensen Huang, because his rival is so far behind him that he can’t keep up. Nvidia will continue to dominate the AI chip market for a few years, and will remain the world’s most valuable company. But right now, the market isn’t generating much interest outside of selling chips.
