Localization of sectors in Saudi Arabia: targeted sectors and professions prohibited for foreigners
In this article, we will address the topic of localization of sectors in the Saudi Arabia, and the efforts made by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development to achieve this goal. The Saudization of Professions Law was approved with the aim of reducing the unemployment rate and reducing the percentage of expatriate workers in Saudi Arabia and coordinating this with the Kingdom's Vision 2030. We will look at the sectors that have been localized in Saudi Arabia and which professions are prohibited for foreigners.
**1. Healthcare Sector: **
Nearly 40,000 Saudi jobs have been localized in the private healthcare sector.

15.6K Saudi employees were employed in this sector.
**3. Tourism Accommodation Sector:**
8,000 Saudi cadres have been appointed to various jobs and departments in the tourism sector.
**4. Advocates and Legal Consultants Sector:**
6000 practitioners of the legal profession and legal consultancy have been found in Saudi Arabia.
**5. Education Sector:**
The program aims to increase the percentage of Emiratization in the private education sector and find qualified cadres.
**6. Insurance & Banking Sector:**
The insurance sector was organized and the Emiratization rate increased in coordination with the regulatory authority.
**7. Dental and pharmacy professions:**
Increase the Emiratization rate in these professions to 3,000 practitioners in the private sector.
**Prohibited professions for foreigners in Saudi Arabia 2023:**
A range of professions that foreigners are not allowed to practice in Saudi Arabia have been identified in 2023, including human resources managers and some other professions.
**Percentage of Legalization of Lawyers: **
The localization rate of legal professions in Saudi Arabia is 70%.
