On a Samsung Galaxy Phone, How to Undo Typing
On PCs, we take for granted the option to "Undo" the last item we wrote. The iPhone also has a helpful undo gesture, as does the Samsung Galaxy phone.
Along with the Samsung Keyboard, Samsung Galaxy devices have an undo option. "Undo" will erase the last few words you entered, not individual characters, in this case. If you enable this feature, you won't be able to use swipe typing.
If it isn't already, we'll need to make Samsung Keyboard your default keyboard app.
Then, from the top of the screen, slide down to see the Quick Settings tiles. To access the settings, tap the gear symbol.
Next, go to “General Management.”
Now tap “Samsung Keyboard Settings.”
Tap "Samsung Keyboard Settings."
Scroll down and go to “Swipe, Touch, and Feedback.”
Go to "Swipe, Touch, and Feedback."
Select “Keyboard Swipe Controls.”
Select "Keyboard Swipe Controls."
This will most likely be on “Swipe to Type” by default. We want to switch it to “Cursor Control.”
Switch it to "Cursor Control."
There are a number of things “Cursor Control” enables, one of which is the undo and redo gestures. Here’s how it works:
Undo: Swipe from right to left across the keyboard with two fingers.
Redo: Swipe from left to right across the keyboard with two fingers.
Move cursor: Slide one finger horizontally across the keyboard.
Select text: Hold the Shift key with one finger and slide a second finger horizontally across the keyboard.
Undo and redo gesture.
That's everything! You can now undo and redo as much as you like. This is a fantastic feature to have if you type a lot on your phone. Bonus features include the ability to move the cursor and quickly select text.
