The report also added that Apple will also work on enhancing the graphical capabilities of the iPhone chip by adding an additional GPU core.
This information was previously published by the leaker @uredditor on the X platform (formerly Twitter). They claimed that the new Apple A17 Bionic SoC will have a hexa-core GPU configuration, an increase from its predecessor's single core. This is expected to enhance the performance of the iPhone 15 Pro (Max) in gaming and graphics-intensive tasks.
The A17 Bionic retains the same hexa-core CPU configuration, but its clock speed will be 3.7 GHz, higher than the 3.46 GHz in the previous generation. It's worth noting that the new iPhone SoC chips achieved a 17% improvement in single-core performance and up to 20% in multi-core performance.
Additionally, Apple can provide a higher memory bandwidth through the A17 Bionic. Furthermore, the leak mentioned that the iPhone manufacturer is likely to stick with 6 GB of RAM in this model, just like in the A16 Bionic, dispelling rumors that the iPhone 15 Pro (Max) would upgrade to 8 GB of RAM.
The A17 Bionic chip is rumored to be manufactured using a more efficient 3-nanometer process, which could extend battery life in the Apple iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. There's also a possibility that the new chip will be manufactured by Taiwanese company TSMC.
