20 Best Laptops for VR in 2025
Here are the top laptops for VR that we have evaluated.
The Oculus Rift S and the HTC Vive Cosmos are two examples of virtual reality headsets that can only be used with the greatest VR-ready laptops. As a result of our testing, we are aware of which batteries will work best with VR headsets to provide you with 360-degree games, apps, and videos.
The greatest laptops with the necessary specs, such as Nvidia's 20-series GPUs or the company's Max-Q GPUs, will work since they effectively turn even the smallest laptops into virtual reality powerhouses. If you want to locate a gaming laptop at a reasonable price, we highly recommend visiting our best gaming offers page.

The finest VR-ready computers have been completely redesigned for the era of RTX, not just a rehash of our best gaming laptops.
The aforementioned graphics cards are intended to receive a much-needed performance boost from Nvidia's relatively new RTX 30 processors.
To decide which popular VR headset you prefer, read our reviews of the Oculus Rift S and HTC Vive Cosmos. You can also compare the two.
Check out our review of the Oculus Quest 2 if you're over wires. You should read our review of the Valve Index if you're considering purchasing a more pricey headset. Check out our assessment of the $1,990 "future-proof" VR headgear Varjo Aero as well.

Here are the top laptops that are VR-ready without further ado.
Which laptops are the best for VR?
The finest VR-ready laptops can be very expensive, especially when you consider that the Alienware m17 R4 is at the top of our list. It completely destroyed every test we set in front of it with graceful aplomb thanks to its desktop Intel Core i9 processor and one of Nvidia's powerful RTX GPUs.
It will also put a serious impact on your bank account. However, when you consider that this is the first gaming laptop that is future-proof, it seems like a little price to pay for such an incredible system.
For those looking for a portable VR-ready laptop, the Razer Blade 15 range is consistently a great choice. The brand's newest product is offered with a gorgeous white chassis that will catch everyone's attention.
You would be negligent to disregard the interior, despite how attractive the façade appears. The Blade 15 is the embodiment of power thanks to its Intel Core i7 processor and one of Nvidia's brand-new RTX GPUs.
Laptops With RTX SUPER Graphics Processors
Consider purchasing a workstation if you're looking for a VR-ready laptop for business purposes rather than gaming. The WS65 9TM from MS will work.
The WS65 offers a strong 9th-Gen Core i7 processor and Nvidia Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q GPU in a sleek, sturdy chassis for an opulent price of $3,499. Finish it off with a long-lasting battery and a stunning 15.6-inch 4K display that you can use when not wearing the headset.
How to pick the best laptops for VR use for yourself
Prior to deciding which laptop is the most suitable for VR, Think about the specifications you'll require in the gaming laptop you're considering.
Here are the required minimums for VR:
- Intel Core i5-6300HQ processor
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 980, 1050 Ti (due to Oculus' Asynchronous SpaceWarp), 1060, 1070 or 1080 GPU. RTX 2060, 2070, and 2080 are the stronger alternatives. Here's how to check your GPU.
- 8GB of RAM
- 4GB of VRAM. Here's how to check your VRAM.
- Two USB 3.0 ports
- HDMI 1.4
- 1920 x 1080 display
- Windows 8 or 10
When choosing a laptop that is VR-ready, the major considerations are the specifications and presence of a tiny DisplayPort. Any further features are insignificant if you're only interested in the VR aspect, but you should still pay attention to the laptop's size, keyboard, and display because you'll probably use it for regular gaming as well.
Consider looking at laptops with less expensive AMD GPUs, such as the Dell G5 15 SE, if you're on a tight budget (2020). Although it won't be ideal, it will get your VR setup working. Of course, you may spend more money on a laptop with an RTX GPU, like the Alienware m17 R4, which would be unbeatable in VR.
However, this will increase your overall cost. In general, you need to decide your budget and what factors are most important to you in a laptop that is VR-ready.
How we evaluate the finest laptops for VR
Before a laptop is given to one of our reviewers, we subject it to rigorous synthetic and real-world benchmark testing. We assess the laptop's performance, battery life, display, speakers, and heat management, among other features.
In our benchmark testing, we measure the brightness and sRGB color gamut of the laptop's display using a Klein K10 colorimeter. We put the laptop through a battery of performance tests, including the professional graphics benchmarks 3DMark and Geekbench 4.3 and 5.0.
We give the laptop the duty of duplicating a 4.97GB multimedia file and downscaling a 4K video to 1080p resolution in order to assess real-world performance. The Dirt 3 benchmark is our real-world graphics test, running at medium settings and 1080p resolution.
Additionally, we perform heat testing by running a 15-minute full-screen video while monitoring the temperature in various parts of the laptop. Last but not least, we use continuous Wi-Fi web browsing at 150 nits of brightness to test the battery.
A runtime of over 9 hours is seen as a good result for MacBooks and high-end Windows 10 laptops, although gaming laptops and workstations that can maintain power for longer than 5 hours are deserving of praise.
These tests are supplemented by in-depth hands-on testing by our reviewers, who offer feedback on everything from the laptop's build quality to the way its touchpad feels.
The greatest computers available today that are VR-ready
Alienware m17 R5
AMD introduced their Rembrandt CPUs, which are now more appropriately referred to as the Ryzen 6000 mobile family, back in January at CES 2025.
Despite using essentially the same CPU core architecture as its previous generation, AMD made some bold claims about these CPUs, stating that they would outperform it by up to 30%. The Ryzen 6000 chips from AMD offer numerous upgrades over the previous generation family; in fact, AMD refers to its core architecture as "Zen 3+" due to the extent of the advancements. Rembrandt's power efficiency was one of the main goals of several upgrades for Zen 3+, and it has improved as a result.
The Ryzen 6000 family also includes software improvements that enable a number of new functions, such as AMD SmartShift Max, in addition to these updated CPU cores. The fact that Smart Shift made its debut in a single Dell laptop in 2020 clearly didn't satisfy AMD's engineers who had put so much effort into developing the power-balancing feature.
This year, however, "AMD Advantage" notebooks from every vendor contain it. This name refers to computers that include an AMD Ryzen CPU and a Radeon discrete GPU in addition to a number of test systems and performance enhancements that enhance gaming.
Now that AMD is making some significant noise and OEMs are beginning to dance to AMD's rhythm, the market for gaming laptops is actually competitive instead of being dominated by Intel and Nvidia.
The most recent group to use AMD to create gorgeous music? Alienware's m17 R5 model. The laptop is not to be trifled with; it has an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor and a Radeon RX 6850 XT GPU.
This system has been thoroughly optimized using AMD Advantage Suite to provide you with the best performance possible under any circumstance. Additionally, you get Cherry MX keys, a gorgeous 4K display, excellent speakers, and a sleek design.

More particular, the Triton 300 SE is remarkably portable for a gaming notebook at 3.75 pounds and measures 0.7 by 12.7 by 9 inches (HWD). The amazing, previously mentioned Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, which measures 0.7 by 12.8 by 8.7 inches and weighs 3.52 pounds, is its main competition.
The Asus ROG Flow X13 (made to function with a standalone eGPU) and the Razer Blade Stealth 13 are the only rivals that are even smaller. The Flow and the Stealth are 0.62 by 11.8 by 8.8 inches and 0.63 by 12 by 8.3 inches, respectively, and weigh 2.9 and 3.1 pounds.

The ROG Zephyrus G14 from Asus is the most durable gaming laptop ever made.
I never imagined the day would come when a gaming laptop offered more battery life than a standard notebook. But due to the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, today is the day. At $1,449, you can buy the latest, potent AMD Ryzen 9-4900HS processor paired with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q GPU. Almost nothing this baby can't do.
The ROG Zephyrus G14 is a nearly ideal gaming laptop thanks to its attractive milky-white magnesium alloy body, lightning-fast SSD, bright, 14-inch, 120Hz display, ergonomic keyboard, and powerful speakers.
The Zephyrus G14 I tested costs $1,449 and is outfitted with an AMD Ryzen 9-4900HS processor, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q GPU with 6GB of VRAM, 16GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and a 1080p at 120Hz display.
You can pick up the base model for $1,049, and it'll come with a Ryzen 7-4800HS CPU, a GTX 1650 GPU, 8GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, and a 1080p at 60Hz display. If you want to go all out, you can pick up the $1,999 model with a Ryzen 9-4900HS CPU, an RTX 2060 Max-Q GPU, 16GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, a 1440p at 60Hz display, and the AniMe Matrix display (more on that later).
The magnesium-alloy lid of the Zephyrus G14 is painted a beautiful milky white that Asus calls "Moonlight White." For the AniMe Matrix display, which uses tiny LED lights, half of the lid is covered in fascinating microdots. Your own photos or GIFs, such as a small Pikachu racing across the lid, will be shown. LED lighting wasn't present on our model, but it wasn't required for this baby to appear fantastic.
The laptop has an industrial look thanks to the silver Republic of Gamers establishment stamp on the bottom left corner. A little cutout on the lid also reveals the engraved Zephyrus logo on the hinge.
Sadly, a gray-silver color replaces Moonlight White in the interior (aka Eclipse Gray). It seems neutral, not horrible. The top-firing speakers have race car grill cuts on the left and right side of the deck, and the keyboard has the worst white illumination I've ever seen right above it. Heck, when it was off, I could see the keys more clearly. The display's bezels are rather thin, however, there is no webcam.
At 3.5 pounds and 12.8 x 8.7 x 0.7 inches, the Zephyrus G14 is both lighter and slimmer than the Dell G7 15 (2019) (5.5 pounds, 14.4 x 10.8 x 0.8 inches) and the Asus ROG Strix Scar III (4.3 pounds, 14.2 x 10.8 x 1.0 inches).

The new Predator Triton 500 SE from Acer is a stylish, understated powerhouse that you can sneak into the office and use to complete almost a day's worth of work. Additionally, if you connect during your lunch break, you can defeat your adversaries and resume your work.
This Predator has a magnificent all-aluminum, gun-metal grey casing that is office-elegant, concealing its robust gaming genes. It has a 12th Gen Intel Core i9 CPU and Nvidia's strong 3080Ti GPU with 16 GB of VRAM. You'll be intrigued by the subtle aggression that even its air vents exude.
The Predator is destined to enter our best gaming laptops thanks to its relatively quiet fans and one of the greatest laptop webcams I've seen in a long time.
Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 6
The best gaming laptop for VR in terms of overall performance is:
If you can make up for its short battery life and loud cooling fans, Lenovo's Legion 7i boasts unmatched gaming performance and an excellent screen.
$1,639.99 at Lenovo
With its Intel Core i9 HK-series CPU and high-wattage Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080, Lenovo's Legion 7i gaming laptop (starts at $1,799; $3,269 as tested) has a strong need for speed in the configuration we tested. This combination produced best-in-class gaming benchmarks. Since our last review, it has now been updated with a taller 16-inch G-Sync screen and PCI Express Gen 4 storage, and it continues to astound with its excellent build quality and connection.
Despite this, the astonishing performance of this laptop is accompanied by some of the lowest battery life and loudest cooling fans we've ever heard in a modern laptop. Because of its superior battery life, the Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 continues to be our Editors' Choice for a well-rounded, high-end gaming system. However, if speed is your sole concern, the Legion 7i has no equal.

MSI Katana GF66
Best Cheap VR Gaming Laptop
Conclusion: MSI's Katana GF66 is a reasonably priced, well-rounded budget gaming laptop that shrinks the size of rival products.

$999.99 at Micro Center
You can depend on a gaming laptop that is named after a fabled sword to represent the leading edge of low-cost equipment. A standout among 15.6-inch budget gaming laptops, the MSI Katana GF66 (starts at $799; $1,199 for the in-store Micro Center model tested here) includes an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU at a price you'd typically expect to find an RTX 3050 Ti, as well as an eight-core Intel Core i7 CPU and a large 1TB solid-state drive.
The Katana still fulfills the necessary requirements for gaming without significant flaws, even though its battery life is shorter than we'd like and its screen is less vivid than we'd like. This is especially true in these days of rising core-component prices and a redefining of what constitutes a "budget" gaming laptop. It swaps out MSI's Bravo 15 for this one.
