Make your computer automatically delete this space-consuming file when you shut down
The Pagefile.sys file is used by Windows as a virtual random access memory to store programs that are not used when the main RAM is full, in order to reduce the pressure on the RAM, which may make the space of this file large over time and with the increase in RAM space, so this file must be deleted so that Windows can store data on it again. In this post, we will learn about a way to make the computer automatically delete this file when shutting down.
Open the registry editor from the Run window by pressing WIN+R and typing "regedit" then pressing Enter.
Then go to the following path from the sidebar:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
Then open the "ClearPageFileAtShutdown" file in the right pane as shown in the image above. Then enter "1" in the value data box instead of "0" and press OK.
When shutting down, Windows will automatically delete the Pagefile.sys file and provide space for the computer and RAM in order to speed up the computer. If you want to cancel this feature, follow the previous steps and type "0" in the value data box instead of "1".
