MSI Titan GT77 HX 13V Laptop Specifications
Last year, MSI launched the Titan GT77 with Intel Core i9-12900HX and RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU, it was the most powerful gaming laptop on the planet. He was the biggest heavy hitter and could handle anything you throw without breaking a sweat. MSI has now updated the Titan GT77 with the Core i9-13950 HX launched by Intel in January this year (2023) and Nvidia's RTX 4090 16GB GPU for laptop. How well does the new MSI Titan GT77 HX 13V hold? Let's find out in our in-depth review.
MSI Titan GT77 HX 13V Review (2023)

Having said that, let's take a look at the design and build of this gaming laptop before moving on to the performance section.

Quality of design and construction
MSI Titan GT77 HX is a huge beast - even lifting this giant from the box requires some muscular work. If you plan to order one for yourself, we suggest you start exercising before it arrives. We called our unit "The Big Chungus" in the beebom office.
Titan GT77 HX 13V offers decent build quality. Although it features an all-plastic chassis, the laptop is well designed and keeps its surface flexible to a minimum. On the other hand, the top cover flexes a little more than we would like. Although it is not a cause for concern, it could have been built better. There are laptops on the market that cost four to five times less (Important! Important! Legion) but has equivalent or better build quality, so there's that.
The top cover features the MSI Dragon logo with RGB backlight, which looks great! Silver-colored screen hinges perfectly complement the dark / midnight color of the laptop, and the set looks rather impressive. You also get a good view of the huge fan grills, which have two RGB strips in the middle.
The laptop core reveals large rubber feet, angular edges (acting as supporting feet, we assume), and multiple vents for ventilation. When placed on a desk (or any hard surface), the rubber legs provide a large enough gap between the surface and the base of the laptop to pass air through.
Moving to the sides of the MSI Titan GT77 HX reveals more cooling system air vents, along with a good range of I/O ports. More on that later.
The Titan GT77 HX is only 23mm thick on the sides, which improves mobility (as MSI claims). However, we still feel that this laptop is better suited as a desktop alternative. It weighs 3.3 kg (or 7.28 lb), and the energy brick weighs another 1.4 kg (or 3.14 lb). Carrying her regularly to work or school may not be the most feasible thing. Also, thanks to the unusual (and excessive) depth, fitting this laptop in a backpack is one and a half tasks.
The back of the Titan GT77 features more ventilation and beautiful-looking RGB lighting. However, we would have liked MSI had moved some I/O ports back like Lenovo's Legion series does, making cable management easier and keeping things in order a lot.
When the top cover is lifted, you are greeted with a beautiful 17.3-inch UHD display with minimal bezels everywhere (except for the large MSI-branded chin), a well-sized trackpad, a compact Cherry mechanical keyboard (although there is a compact number pad), a fingerprint scanner, and large speakers along the left and right edges of the keyboard surface. The display hinges are well adjusted. The laptop passes the one-handed opening test without flaw, and the screen remains wobbly to a minimum. However, the screen does not turn back.
Overall, the Titan GT77 HX is well made and provides a clean aesthetic. However, the clean side of its design is thrown out of the window just by getting your hands on it – the laptop is a fingerprint magnet and keeping it clean means a lot of cleaning with a microfiber cloth.
MSI Titan GT77: Display
No exaggeration or sugar coating here - the MSI Titan GT77 HX screen is great (and huge, 17.3 inches)! Our review module comes with a 4K mini-LED panel (3840×2160), a 16:9 aspect ratio, a 144Hz refresh rate, and HDR-1000 support. However, you can also select it using a QHD IPS display with a refresh rate of 240Hz.
The image quality is amazing, with dark black, excellent color reproduction, and stunning sharpness. Use this device for gaming, photo / video editing or consuming content on the Internet, and it will amaze you every time you lay eyes on it. This is good!
It is a matte anti-glare and not glossy display. However, this is not a bad thing. I used this laptop as my primary device for a whole week (with 8 hours on workdays) and never experienced eye strain. The painting kept reflections to a minimum, even under direct sunlight, and occasional bright studio lighting in the background. Brightness levels are top notch - more than serviceable under direct sunlight and harsh lighting. You don't need to rush to a dark corner to use the Titan GT77 HX. The viewing angles are also solid, with minimal color change when looking at the screen from different sides. Overall, it is an excellent monitor that you will enjoy using perfectly.
