Google brings all its services together in one app Google Essentials

Google is introducing a new  app called Google Essentials that bundles some of Google’s services, like Messages and Photos, with links to download a bunch of others. The app will be included with several new Windows laptops, the first of which will come from HP.

Google is expanding its focus from smartphones to laptop users with the Essentials app.

Google Essentials App Details

Google Essentials is a new app that brings together many of Google’s most popular services in one place on your laptop. Announced on the official Google blog , the app acts as a hub for services like Google Photos, Google Messages, Google Drive, and more.

Instead of having to switch between different  apps , you can now manage all of these services in one place, which makes your experience more seamless and efficient.

Essentials also includes the Google Play Games app , which lets you download popular Android games like Clash of Clans to your PC. You can access Google Play Games through the Essentials app (or even the HP Omen Gaming Hub app), play games, and continue your progress on your Android device as you play compatible games.

Google Essentials will initially be pre-installed on select HP laptops, including models from the Envy, Pavilion, and Omen series. However, Google has confirmed that the app will eventually be available on other Windows PCs as well.

It's still unclear whether the app will come pre-installed on these other devices or whether users will need to download it from the Microsoft Store. Either way, Google says it wants its services to be more accessible to Windows users.

The importance of Google Essentials

Google Essentials is part of a massive effort by Google and Microsoft to make it easier to connect Android devices to Windows PCs.

Over the past few years, the two companies have been working together to improve this integration. For example, Google’s Quick Share app already allows for easy file sharing between Android and Windows devices.

Similarly, Microsoft is developing features that will allow users to transfer files between their phones and computers and even explore and view their phone's internal memory directly from their computer and transfer files between them.

Google Essentials takes this integration to the next level by providing a single platform where you can access multiple Google services without having to open separate apps. This makes it easy to navigate between your devices without the hassle of switching back and forth between different apps.

The app enhances your experience by creating a more connected environment for those who rely on Google's integrated ecosystem for personal and work-related tasks.

A full list of apps hasn't been announced yet, but Google's announcement shows icons including Google Sheets, Google Drive, Nearby Share, and Google One, and it's offering a two-month free trial for new subscribers through Essentials.
