The Weirdest Internet-Connected Products on Amazon

Modern society is driven by innovative technology. But for most companies , the word “innovation” simply means “a product that connects to the Internet.” So, we spent some time researching the strangest Internet-connected products on Amazon —some of which are actually useful, while others are just plain weird.

Note: Don't forget to check out the Amazon reviews for these weird products. They'll laugh at you.

Foot massage, but smart.

There’s nothing worse than sinking your feet into a big electric foot massager, only to realize that a noisy spouse or toddler has messed up all your settings. There’s only one solution to this problem – an app that lets you control your foot massager from the palm of your hand! At least, that’s the idea behind the RENPHO Smart Foot Massager .

Ignore the app, this is a very neat product. It can heat your feet and offers multiple massage modes. But I’m not sure why you’d need an app for this foot massager, since you can just lean over and press one of the many buttons to adjust your settings.

And if you can’t bend down to press the foot massager’s buttons, you can buy one with a remote control. In fact, RENPHO sells this foot massager with a proper remote control, and it costs the same as the app-controlled model. This is all pretty weird, so let’s move on.

Automatic redirection device

Well, this is kind of neat. The ConnectSense Router Rebooter is a small extension cable that automatically turns off your router when your internet goes down. This saves you the hassle of getting up, walking around the house, unplugging your router, plugging it back in, and standing around like a lost puppy until your internet decides to come back on.

Of course, Router Rebooter is a very simple device. It just connects to your Wi-Fi network and waits until the internet connection is lost. After that, it stops power going to the router for a few seconds, performing a proper power cycle .

You can also use Router Rebooter as a basic smart plug with scheduling and remote control functions. It even supports Google Assistant and Alexa!

Tell time the old fashioned way

Two great products in a row? This is kind of unexpected. The ELEKSTUBE Tube Clock mimics the design of an old-fashioned clock (a small clock that displays numbers using vacuum tubes). But it’s highly customizable, using small LCD displays instead of nixie tubes, which are expensive and hard to find these days.

Of course, ELEKSTUBE Tube Clock is an internet-connected device. It only uses Wi-Fi to detect your time zone and synchronize the clock, which is great. However, some people hack these clocks to take more advantage of the Wi-Fi function, which is very interesting.
