Egyptian lawyer Farid El-Deeb dies in Egyptian courts
Well-known Egyptian lawyer Farid El-Deeb died on Tuesday at the age of 79 after suffering from leukemia.
Actress Tamar Abdel Moneim wrote on her Facebook account, "Allah have mercy on the great lawyer and grandfather of my daughters, Professor Farid El-Deeb," and his funeral will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, after the afternoon prayer at the Sayeda Zeinab Mosque. "
Alaa Mubarak, son of the late President Hosni Mubarak, expressed his condolences on the death of Mubarak's family lawyer Farid Erdif. Alaa Mubarak said:
Farid El-Deeb has championed several high-profile cases during his career, including the Mubarak case, dubbed the "trial of the century," former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly, and the Israeli Azzam case. Azzam, who was convicted of espionage, as well as the cases of many politicians, artists and businessmen.
Al-Ahram newspaper reported that "the latest work of lawyer Farid El-Deeb is to appeal before the Court of Cassation against a ruling issued by the Mansoura Criminal Court to execute the accused of killing student Naira Ashraf in front of Mansoura University." A crime that shook the streets of Egypt last June.
