Samsung introduces the most secure smartphone thanks to quantum technology Galaxy Quantum5

Samsung has announced a new smartphone focused on security, the Galaxy Quantum5. As the name suggests, this device features a quantum-level security system. For this, Samsung turned to ID Quantique (IDQ), which was responsible for implementing the Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) chip in this smartphone.

According to the company behind the chip, this is the world’s smallest processor. This allows it to be integrated into any IoT or mobile device like the Samsung Galaxy Quantum5. This processor measures 2.5 x 2.5 mm and is integrated with the Samsung Knox security platform.

This chip takes advantage of quantum physics to generate truly random numbers that are used in the encryption and decryption process of sensitive data like biometrics and passwords. By generating this data randomly, from this chip itself, you limit the possibility of external influences and manipulations, which traditional random number generation methods are vulnerable to.

The Samsung Galaxy Quantum5 is basically the Galaxy A55 with minor improvements and of course that QRNG chip. The improvements include the addition of an aluminum frame, a glass back, and added water and dust protection (IP67).

In terms of specifications, it comes with a 6.6-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED display, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of expandable storage, a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging, and a triple rear camera. This consists of a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultrawide angle, and a 5MP macro sensor. These are pretty standard specs and should suffice for the vast majority of users. In this way, we can say that it is a mid-range smartphone, but it focuses on adding an extra layer of security with the QRNG chip.

Samsung Galaxy Quantum5 is focused on the user who prioritizes security. It is an additional layer added to a large number of operations. For example, logins, payments, unlocking, and even mobile banking, games or social networks. Basically, you can protect applications using quantum security.

Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy Quantum 5 comes with a “quantum indicator” that informs users that an app is using a quantum-secured service, such as in-app security for payments and other financial services. A message appears indicating that the apps are protected by QRNG technology.

When an app saves authentication information such as fingerprints and facial images, the mobile phone is automatically protected with QRNG.

The Samsung Galaxy Quantum5 is exclusive to South Korea in collaboration with local telecom operator SK Telecom. As for the price, it is sold at a price of $420.
