How to ask Google to hide your home on Google Maps
Of all the free services that Google offers us, its Maps app is definitely the best. Not only is it completely free, but it also offers many possibilities. Whether you are traveling on foot, by car or by public transport, Google Maps is an essential application that we must all install on our smartphone.
Although one of the best functions of Google Maps is the so-called Street View. It is a function to see at street level any point we want in the city, even being able to rotate images 360 degrees. This allows you to see houses, monuments, or any other point of interest.
Of course this makes a person's personal data come into view. For example, a private house, garden or private garage . Fortunately, Google Maps offers an option that allows us to hide or blur these areas for everyone. How to do it? By following these simple steps.
The steps to make your home or any private information hidden from everyone on Google Maps are really simple. Since looking at your home in the Google app can be very fun at first, but you may also not want millions of people around the world to know where you live or that your home has a poorly guarded back door.
To do this, simply open Google Maps (either on your smartphone or in a web browser) and search for the address you want. Once this is done, we choose Street View and choose the image in which our house appears.
After that, simply press the three dots above and choose the option "Report a problem". This will display a window in which we can define what we want to opaque and choose the reasons for this. Once all the information is filled, we will click on Submit.
Unfortunately, this method is neither automatic nor guaranteed. That is, it is Google that will review our application and assess whether it is necessary to obliterate our home or garage. Not all applications are accepted, and it depends on many factors.
