Twitter founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey now has Bluesky app to compete with Elon Musk

Although he parted ways with the company in November 2021, Jack Dorsey has been one of the harshest critics of the Elon Musk era on Twitter. However, that’s not the only thing the company’s co-founder and former CEO has dedicated himself to.

After his resignation, Dorsey took a short break, but soon after he resumed work on a project that had been in development for several years. We already knew what it was called, but today we can finally say that it is a reality. This is Bluesky: the decentralized social network that will compete with Twitter from now on.

Despite being announced in 2019, not many details have been revealed about BlueSky so far. The new social network developed by Dorsey already had a web page that you could access through your favorite browser. However, he didn’t provide much information about the project (not even in the blog section).

The website is still pretty barebones, but it recently underwent a small tweak that changes everything: there’s now a link to the Apple App Store . Once there, you can sign up for BlueSky’s iOS waitlist and have the company send you an invitation code to create an account . What does this mean? That the mobile app is a reality, being tested as a private beta and that the launch of this social network could be closer than we think.

Officially, BlueSky hasn’t revealed any images of what its mobile app will look like. However, some users who have already accessed the private beta have leaked screenshots, and these are just the ones we leave below.

As you can see, the design is very similar to Twitter, although in older versions. The interface is divided into tabs and you can comment on posts, like them and retweet them. Also, there is a screenshot that reveals what user profiles look like and surprise! It is almost identical to what Twitter shows us: profile picture, header image, name, username, bio and other account information.

A screenshot of the BlueSky settings menu and login screen has also been leaked. In both cases there is nothing interesting, although the welcome screen is very basic.

While the leaked images may disappoint you, there is one thing you should understand: there is still a lot to see about this app, which is also still in beta. So, a lot of changes could still happen before the stable release of the app.
