review APRILIA - TUONO V4 1100 FACTORY

Powerful, fast, sporty features, inspired by the mythical RSV4, the new V4 R ABS Tuono now delivers great performance, an outstanding APRC electronic system, increased safety and an advanced ABS braking system.

Tuono V4 R ABS continues the successful tradition of sporty motorcycles, born in 2002 and first shown on the two-wheeler Tuono 1000 R. In 2009, Aprilia revolutionized the superbike segment, introducing the RSV4, which won four titles at the SBK World Championship. Two years later, the Tuono V4 R, based on the RSV4, was introduced, and it  is the most powerful and technologically advanced ever made .

The knowledge gained during the successful competition years was applied to the new Tuon V4 R ABS, which brings better performance, greater enjoyment, but also a higher level of safety, and is available in only one version and in two different colors. Not only does it bring the most important improvements introduced earlier this year on the RSV4 Factory ABS and RSV4 R ABS, but it also boasts a  new seat and fully adjustable suspension .

The goal was to increase sports performance, but without losing comfort, which is especially important for those who use a motorcycle every day. For longer autonomy, there is a  tank of increased volume, which now amounts to 18.5 liters .

The Tuono V4 R ABS brings an improved aPRC system, which debuted on the RSV4 Factory ABS and RSV4 R ABS models. Aprilia Performance Ride Control or aPRCm for short is directly based on the technology used in the Superbike Championship and provides maximum enjoyment and best performance.

The new aPRC on the Tuon V4 R ABS consists of:

- aTC (Aprilia Traction Control) traction control system
- aWC (Aprilia Wheelie Control) control system
- aLC (Aprilia Launch Control) ignition control system, designed for the track and with three different modes
- aQS (Aprilia Quick Shift) system for quick gear changes

In addition to the second generation aPRC system, the Tuono also has a high-performance ABS system, developed in collaboration with Bosch, which guarantees maximum protection on the road.  The ABS system has three different setting modes:

- Mode 1, designed for the track, but which can also be used on the road.
- Mode 2, for sportier driving
- Mode 3, for surfaces where better grip is required, as well as for the same weather conditions (rain).

The Tuono V4 R ABS has a new radially mounted monoblock Brembo front brake.

This is the only Naked motorcycle with a V4 engine, with unique characteristics. The narrow V architecture has made it possible to make an aggregate of extremely compact dimensions, which helps to centralize the weight and compactness of the chassis. The unit has been improved and delivers more power, 170 hp at 11,500 rpm and more torque, 111.5 Nm at 9500 rpm, thanks in part to a redesigned exhaust system and carefully tuned electronics.
