How to factory reset programs in Windows in more than one way
In phones, many problems may occur in applications, but they can be factory reset easily by clearing the application data through the settings. In Windows, the problems may be more and we may have to reinstall the program to solve the problem, or this may not happen because the corrupt files are still there. Therefore, in this post, we will learn about two ways to delete program data in Windows to factory reset the programs and solve most of their problems.
Method 1: Clear the program's registry data
Back up your registry before making any changes. Then open the registry editor by pressing Windows key + R and type "regedit" and press Enter.
From the sidebar, navigate to the path [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software] or [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software] until you find the folder that bears the name of the program or the company that developed it.
Then select this folder and press Delete to delete it from the registry. Be careful, deleting another file may cause the system to crash.
Method 2: Delete the program data file
The programs that we install on Windows keep the running files in the Program Files or Program Files x86 folder, but the program's data is saved in the AppData folder, which you can access from the path C:\Users\username\AppData and replace username with your user name.
Or in the Local folder in the same path and this will restore the program's default settings
If a problem occurs, reinstall the program after deleting the data folder and its registry records.
