How to turn off SafeSearch on Yahoo

Unlike other search engines, on Yahoo, you must first perform a search to disable safesearch afterwards.

Disable Yahoo SafeSearch on the desktop

On your Windows, Mac, Linux or Chromebook computer, open a web browser and access the Yahoo website. In the location, click the search box, type any query, and then press Enter.


On the search results page, in the upper-right corner, click "Yahoo Sites" (a nine-dot box).


At the bottom of the "Yahoo sites" list, click "Settings".


You'll see the Search Preferences page. Here, next to "SafeSearch", click on the drop-down menu.


Choose "Off" in the drop-down menu to disable SafeSearch.


Save the changes by scrolling down the page, and at the bottom, click "Save".


Enjoy more results in your Yahoo searches from now on.

Disable Yahoo SafeSearch on mobile

On your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone, open a web browser and launch the Yahoo website. At the top of the site, click on the search box and type a query. Then press Enter.


Scroll down the search results page. There, click on "Settings".


Yahoo will open the Search Preferences page. On this page, in the "SafeSearch" section, click on the drop-down menu.


Select "Off" from the list.


Scroll down the Search Preferences page, then click Save.


You'll see a prompt stating that you must agree to Yahoo's terms to disable SafeSearch. If you agree, click "I agree".


Yahoo will take you back to search results with SafeSearch disabled. You are completely ready.
