How to see who saw your Instagram posts

How to see who saw your Instagram posts

Instagram has been the preferred online photo-sharing social media platform since its launch in 2010. Over 95 million photos are uploaded to Instagram every day, so you're probably a little curious to see if you can see who's watching your Instagram posts, a story, or a profile.

Here's what you should know about what you can track and how to find out who has seen your Instagram posts...

Can you see who is viewing your Instagram?

Instagram largely means showing who is viewing your profile and content. As such, it's no surprise that questions like, "Can you see who viewed your Instagram post?" are very popular.

To some extent, it's possible to see who saw your photos and videos on Instagram – but this only applies to stories. Unfortunately, the app does not have this function for regular photo and video posts. As such, you can't see who is viewing your Instagram photos or videos posted in your feed.

However, you can see how often a video post is viewed.

If you have a business Instagram account, you can also see how many visitors you've received in the past few weeks or how many users have seen your content in their feed. But you can't view the list of usernames.

Other than that, regular posts are limited to information regarding who liked your photo and commented on the post.

How to see who saw your story on Instagram

Now that you know that you can see who is watching your Instagram story during the day, how do you access this information in the app?

Just follow these steps:

Open your story by clicking on your story in the top right.
Swipe up on the screen. You'll see the number of people and account usernames of those who saw each photo or video in your story. Only you are able to see this information.
If your story has expired (it's been over 24 hours since it was published), you can check who watched it for up to 48 hours after it appeared.

To do this, go to your profile. Then follow these steps:

Tap an icon with three horizontal lines at the top right.
Tap Archive .
If you are not already on the Stories archive page, click the title at the top of the screen to open the drop-down menu.
Select Stories Archive.
Tap the story you want to check, swipe up on the screen or tap the icon at the bottom right.
The number of story views includes replay. You may see more views than usernames if the same account sees your story more than once.

How to see the number of views for your Instagram video
You can check the number of views of your Instagram videos, making them different from regular photo posts, which only show likes.

And your Instagram, follow these steps:

Open the Instagram profile tab, and click on the video you want to check.
Below the video, you will see that your video has won the admiration of a user (there is likely someone following you and following you) and others. Click on others .
The first number that appears on the next screen is the number of times your video is viewed. The second number is the number of likes your video has received.
You can't see all viewers' usernames individually, but you can scroll through the list to see the usernames of everyone who liked the video. If you are looking for a specific person, you can use the search bar at the top.

Total views is only available for videos. For photos, the details pane will only display the list of users who liked it.

Are there any third-party apps that let you see who viewed your Instagram profile?
When your favorite apps don't have the functionality you'd like to be built into, what do you do? Some people may quickly search for an alternative in the form of third-party applications. Don't be fooled by any requests that make this claim.

In an article in Reader's Digest, Alex Heid of SecurityScorecard said, "Anything that advertises a feature that shows who viewed your profile will not be a legitimate service and should be avoided because it is likely just an app that exists to collect data for those who use it."

Facebook took over Instagram in 2016, so it makes sense that there is some overlap between them. They have similar privacy settings, and you can't see who viewed your Facebook profile either.

Instagram lets you see some details about who saw your content
Maybe Instagram is considering adding something in the future to let users know who has seen their photos. But in the meantime, the most you can do is keep an eye on who's watching your stories and how well the videos in your feed perform.
