Download Windows 11 24H2 ISO (offline installer), official release
Windows 11 24H2 ISO images are now available on Microsoft's servers. To download the media files, head to Microsoft's download portal, click on “Download now” under the ISO section, select the edition you want to try, and start downloading.
Windows 11 24H2 is a major update, as it is a new version of the OS based on the “Germanium” release, an engineering milestone; development of the Windows 11 Germanium release will initially kick off in August 2023, with Windows 11 Consumer, Windows Server 2025, and will be the major update for Azure Stack HCI this year.
According to Microsoft, the Windows 11 2024 Update is still being rolled out, so you may not see it via Windows Update yet. the Media Creation Tool is still showing Windows 11 23H2, but it will be updated within a few hours. It will be updated within a few hours. For now, we share the direct download link.
The Windows 11 ISO (2024 Update version) is 5.4 GB in size, much smaller than the previous update (23H2). For comparison, the 23H2 was about 6.24 GB in size, while Windows 11 24H2 is down to just 5.4 GB. This is due to recent checkpoint improvements made in Windows 11.
This update is available for Home, Pro, Enterprise, and Enterprise LTSC editions. To initiate the update, you must meet the minimum hardware requirements of 4GB RAM, TPM 2.0, and a 64-bit processor; the ISO is no longer offered in the 32-bit version. There is, of course, an ARM version for those with Snapdragon PCs, which will be available in the coming weeks.
