My phone is not charging as fast as it used to, but I found the problem and the solution and I advise you to do it on your phone as well

For a few weeks now, my phone seemed to have lost one of its most useful features: fast charging. There was no way to charge the smartphone like I was used to in just an hour, leaving me completely baffled.

Despite trying different settings, changing cables, and even resetting the device to factory settings, which is especially frustrating when you're in a hurry.

Coincidentally, one day when I saw that the cable wasn’t quite connected, I discovered the solution with something as simple as cleaning the charging port. Yes, the little connector that we never thought could get damaged had accumulated dirt and dust, so much so that it seemed to prevent a complete connection between the cable and the phone.

After cleaning it, not only did I get a fast charge, but I also realized that I could have avoided weeks of wear and tear on my brain. What’s more, the cable now connects completely differently than it did before, but that’s something you won’t notice until you clean it. Of course, we don’t recommend cleaning it if you don’t know how, so I encourage you to follow these steps.

How to clean your smartphone charging port without damaging it

You can't try to remove dust, lint, or anything inside the mobile phone's charging port with anything, as it is one of the most sensitive parts of the smartphone. If you want to restore fast charging without putting your phone at risk, follow these steps:

Turn off your phone: Before you begin, make sure the device is completely turned off to avoid short circuits.

- Use the right tools: Use a wooden or plastic toothpick (never metal to avoid damage) and compressed air. If you can, get a magnifying glass, which is a very useful tool to observe in detail what you have to clean.

Use compressed air. With small strokes, you can remove dust from the surface. Hold your phone with the port facing down so that the dirt falls out.

Carefully remove debris: Carefully insert a toothpick into the port and gently move it to remove dirt. Do this patiently, without applying too much pressure.

Cleaning with isopropyl alcohol (optional): If you notice a sticky residue, lightly moisten a cotton-coated toothpick with isopropyl alcohol (at least 90% pure) and gently wipe it off.

- Port Test: Once it is clean, connect the cable and turn on the phone to check if fast charging is working properly.

This simple procedure allowed me to fully restore the fast charging feature on my phone. Since then, I have been cleaning the charging port every two to three months to avoid similar issues.

So, you know, the next time you notice something weird on your phone, remember: sometimes the solution is right in front of your eyes.
