Xiaomi Changes Its Mind.. HyperOS 2.0 Will Reach Older Phones
The latest HyperOS 2.0 leak comes from Xiaomi's offices in China and it's good news. We told you a few days ago that to update to the new version that will be launched in October, you had to meet two requirements: you had HyperOS and you had Android 14. These requirements led to the exclusion of a large number of the company's handsets, as priority was given to the latest, which may now change.
After seeing a post from Fixed Focus Digital, everything points to the fact that the HyperOS installation requirements may be eliminated. The source comments, “More older phones have been added,” which could mean that Xiaomi devices are unlocking the minimum features they need to install HyperOS 2.0.
That is, some phones with MIUI 14 may also be eligible for an update to the next version of the operating system, HyperOS 2.0, something that was not initially considered, but now seems to be within the company's plans.
Here are some potential candidates if Xiaomi finally decides to open the door to older models that don't meet the initial requirements for the update to HyperOS 2.0:
- Redmi Note 11
- Redmi Note 11S
- Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G
- Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G
- Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G
- Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G
- POCO M4 Pro 4G
- POCO M4 Pro 5G
- POCO X4 Pro 5G
Rumors and leaks say that the most likely date to see HyperOS 2.0 is October 2024. It will be announced first in China, and then a global version will do the same, usually arriving with a lot of features.
